Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

Why do you charge for a consultation?

My goal is to give you as much value as possible right from the start. During your initial consultation, I share all the insight, direction, and professional guidance you need without holding anything back or saving information for a later upsell.
I charge for consultations because every client deserves my full attention, expertise, and time. Offering free consultations would require increasing rates elsewhere, and I do not believe in passing that cost on to paying clients. Charging for the time you use ensures fairness, transparency, and the highest level of service for everyone I work with.

What areas do you serve?

My standard consultation pricing applies to clients within Salt Lake County. I also take clients in Summit County and Utah County, and an additional fee is charged to cover extra driving time.

Do you offer virtual consultations?

Yes. Early brainstorming, narrowing options, or solving small design dilemmas.

Is any project too small or too big?

I can help with projects of all sizes, and I can be as involved as you want. Some clients only need one meeting to get direction and feel confident moving forward. Others prefer support from the initial concept all the way through construction and final decoration. I work with what you need and tailor my services to fit your project.
I do not typically take on projects larger than 5,000 square feet.

What if I only need help choosing paint colors?

Many of my clients come to me specifically for paint color direction. I offer dedicated paint consultations for the very purpose. Please see the pricing page for more information.

Do you make a profit on product?

No. I allow my clients to purchase directly through my vendors and I pass my designer discount on to them. This keeps the process transparent and ensures you are getting the best pricing available without any markup from me.

Do you handle purchasing and deliveries?

Because I allow clients to work directly with my vendors and contacts, I do not handle purchasing or deliveries. This keeps the process simple, transparent, and cost-effective for you.

Pricing and Payments

Do you offer packages or hourly rates?

I offer a few packages for initial consultations. You can find those details on the pricing page. After the initial consultation, all additional services are billed at an hourly rate of $150 per hour.

What is your payment policy?

Initial consultation payments are due at the time you schedule your meeting. Any additional services will be billed once they are completed, and payment is required before you receive the final deliverables.

Deliverables and Timelines

How soon can we start once I hire you?

Most of the year, I am able to meet with new clients within one week. During the summer months, when construction projects are at their peak, availability can extend up to three weeks. I always do my best to accommodate your schedule as quickly as possible.

How long does it take to receive design recommendations after our meeting?

All verbal recommendations are provided during the initial consultation so you can move forward with confidence right away.
If you would like additional support such as conceptual boards, renderings, samples, or dimensioned drawings, these deliverables typically take 1 to 5 business days, depending on the scope and level of detail needed.
