Ivy Butler

I’m Ivy Butler, founder of Poise & Ivy Design. I started the company in 2016 after training in interior design, and spent years doing full-scope residential design: space planning, material selection, custom lighting, and everything in between.

Somewhere along the way, I noticed that color was the decision my clients felt least confident about, and the one where a professional eye made the fastest, most visible difference. These days, I focus almost entirely on paint and color consultation, using the same design training I’d apply to a full remodel: evaluating undertones, lighting, existing materials, and how everything in a home relates to everything else.

That background is exactly why my color recommendations hold up. I’m not just picking a color that looks nice on its own. I’m accounting for your architecture, your fixed finishes, and how the light in your home changes throughout the day.

I still take on a limited amount of additional design work for past and returning clients, but paint and color consultation is where Poise & Ivy is focused now.

I also work directly with painting contractors, including Sure Thing Painting, to provide clients with professional color direction as part of their painting project.
