Interior Paint Consultations

Whether you’re repainting one room or your entire home, I evaluate your existing finishes, flooring, lighting, and the flow between rooms to recommend colors that work together, not just individually.

What I look at:

  • Undertones in your flooring, cabinetry, countertops, and tile

  • Natural light by room and time of day, and how your artificial lighting affects color

  • How colors will carry between open or adjacent rooms

  • Trim, ceilings, doors, and any millwork that needs its own direction

  • Your existing furniture and finishes, so the palette works with what you’re keeping

What you receive: color direction for walls, trim, ceilings, and any accent surfaces, explained in a way that’s specific enough to hand straight to a painter.

Exterior Paint Consultations

Exterior color decisions carry real cost and are hard to undo. I evaluate your home’s brick, stone, roofing, and architectural details to recommend a palette that suits the house and its surroundings, not just what’s trending.

What I look at:

  • Fixed materials that won’t change: brick, stone, roofing, stucco

  • Architectural style and how many distinct surfaces the home has (body, trim, doors, accents)

  • How the home reads against its site and neighboring homes

  • Sheen and durability appropriate for exterior exposure

Virtual Consultations

A convenient option for homeowners who want professional direction without an in-person visit. We review your space through photos and video you provide, and you get the same level of color analysis and specification as an onsite visit.

Works well when: you have clear, well-lit photos of the spaces or exterior in question, and you’re comfortable walking through your goals over a call.

Onsite Consultations

For homeowners who want me to see their home’s lighting, materials, and finishes in person. I evaluate the space directly, which is especially useful for rooms with tricky light or exteriors with several material types.

Available within Salt Lake, Utah, Summit, and Wasatch counties. Travel outside the standard service area may include an additional fee — contact for details.

What’s Included

Every consultation includes:

  • A working session to discuss your goals, materials, and the spaces or surfaces involved

  • Professional color recommendations based on your home’s architecture, fixed finishes, and lighting

  • Guidance on where each color goes (placement, not just selection)

  • A final, painter-ready color specification

Available as add-ons:

  • Physical paint samples, mailed to you (letter-size sheets, 2–6 colors typical, no extra charge on the initial order — a fee applies only if samples need to be reordered)

  • Renderings, $188 each, to see a color on your home before committing — typically ready within a week

  • Additional renderings, $188 each. Revisions for an error on my end are free.

  • Revised specification after final decisions change, $125

How It Works

  1. Reach out — tell me about your project and send a few photos of the spaces or exterior involved.

  2. Prep — I review your space, materials, and goals before we meet, and come to the consultation with initial direction already in mind.

  3. Consultation — we talk through your goals, existing materials, and color direction together, whether virtual or onsite.

  4. Samples — you receive physical paint samples to view in your own lighting, shipped within 2 business days of the consultation.

  5. Renderings (if purchased) — you’ll receive them to compare options side by side before deciding.

  6. Decision — you choose your final colors with a clear picture of how they’ll look and work together.

  7. Specification — I provide a final, painter-ready color plan. Most specifications are delivered within a week of your final decision.

  8. Handoff — your specification is ready to hand directly to your painter or contractor.

Pricing depends on scope and whether your consultation is virtual or onsite.

  • Virtual — consultation, initial paint samples mailed to you, final specification: $188

  • Virtual + Renderings — everything above, plus two renderings for comparison: $375

  • Onsite — in-home consultation, initial paint samples, final specification: $563

  • Onsite + Renderings — everything above, plus two renderings: $750
